Paso Half Marathon

I survived the Paso Robles Wine Country Half Marathon today. I say survived, because I was a little nervous. I haven't run more than about 4 miles since the marathon in December, and with the wedding, honeymoon, and work, my running has been slacking off a great deal. But, I did pretty well considering and set a new PR of 2:09:16. I guess roller derby is keeping me in decent shape. Next race is Santa Barbara Wine Country Half in May...I'm hoping to break 2 hours there. If I can get enough running in between now and then...

And look - Joe is getting really good at these two-feet-off-the-ground pictures!

Cruisin'

Joe and I got back from the cruise on Sunday. We did the 7-night cruise down to Mexico with 3 stops. We decided to only get off the ship twice and enjoyed port-special massages. (Side note: if anyone is thinking about trying a hot stone massage - go for it. They are AMAZING!) In Mazatlan, we did a little shopping but the place was kinda ghetto scary. So, we didn't spend too much time off the boat. Just long enough for some margaritas and picking up a Mexican wrestling mask.

Next stop was Puerto Vallarta. This was much nicer and we actually felt comfortable enough to find a little restaurant overlooking the beach up on a second floor. The food there was really great - we both has shrimp dishes. And margaritas were two-for-one! This picture is a little dark, but you get the idea.

As for stuff on the boat, we spent a lot of time sitting around and reading. One other thing we managed to enjoy was... wine tasting! (Yes, even in the middle of the ocean on a cruise, we managed to go wine tasting and enjoy some California wines). Another picture here for you of that:

And last for now, here is one of my favorite pictures we took just of us standing on the balcony of our room in the evening. Check out the sweet necklaces I picked up for us - haggled down to 2 for $6 instead of $4 a piece.
